The new mobile phone standard 5G is much more than just mobile radio. With the new wireless communication systems and the progressive development in the areas of Industry 4.0 and Internet of Things IoT, the expansion with broadband must be timely.
It is also about the nationwide mobile communications network, and even more about the future for industrial projects in the age of digitalization and encryption.
Ultra-short latency times of less than a millisecond and peak transmission rates of 10 Gbit/s or higher, as well as a globally available and, above all, robust connection are the conditions for this.
Other requirements such as perfect reception, even when the receiver(s) are sitting in a train or car and moving fast, are secondary. Jumping between radio cells without loss of quality or time delay, as well as energy-saving transmission methods and the exact positioning of people and objects at any time and any place with any system.
Society needs the mobile phone standard 5G
What we need that for? This development is not suddenly upon us. It started many years ago and has now reached a point where we need more services, networked nodes, and more reliable connections. It all (perhaps) started with navigating and recognizing objects/persons and their current position via satellites. But perhaps it all started much earlier, when the first computer was invented.
In recent years, research on autonomous driving and artificial intelligence has made a big step forward and now has a real capacity problem. But industrial processes around automation and robotics are also reaching their limits.
