Discover the Frenzy Over Solana’s Meme Coin: How Investors Are Racing to Secure $100M in Presales
In the crypto market, presales have become increasingly popular, with numerous projects raising enormous amounts of money based on simple X posts, even without a functioning product. This trend gained traction after the massive success of Book of Meme (BOME), which turned a few hundred dollars into hundreds of thousands in paper gains for early investors. However, this frenzy has led to concerns about the high risks involved in participating in such presales.
Attracting millions of dollars in Solana’s SOL token has become as easy as posting on X, without the need for a working product, white paper, or long-term plan. These presales typically involve sending funds to a crypto address and receiving a predetermined number of tokens at a later date. Despite the hype, some market observers are unimpressed and believe that sending money to these so-called “memecoin presales” is simply “dumb as hell.”
The general template for these presale posts is “Presale is live. To participate, send SOL to (contract address) with a minimum participation of 0.5 SOL.” This appeal has gained even more momentum after the success of BOME, in which early investors made significant gains in a matter of days, with a market capitalization of $1.6 billion and a daily trading volume of over $100 million.
Following BOME’s success, countless X posts have flooded the market, attempting to raise capital in return for a promise of a token that may be distributed to funders at a later date. For example, one project generated $30 million in just 30 minutes on Monday morning, claiming to be an AI-driven application. Since BOME’s launch, a number of presale tokens have already exchanged millions of dollars in trading volumes, reaching market capitalizations of up to $600 million.
This frenzy has also had a positive impact on Solana’s SOL token, which has reached a price of $200 for the first time since November 2021, thanks to the rapidly growing network activity. These non-serious Solana presale tokens are attracting considerable attention, making Solana’s market capitalization to grow at an even faster rate.
