Unlocking the Potential: Investor Interest in Bitcoin ETF Skyrockets with Latest Fee Reduction
Vaneck lowers fee for spot bitcoin ETF. VanEck is a leading asset manager and now, they have made their bitcoin ETF offering more attractive by cutting the management fee to 0% for a year. This move has resulted in record daily inflows for their VanEck Bitcoin Trust (HODL) on Monday, with $119 million in fresh funds and over 1,600 bitcoin added. This is the largest inflow since the ETF’s January launch, according to data compiled by BitMEX Research. This fee reduction applies until March 31, 2025, unless the ETF reaches $1.5 billion in assets under management. This puts VanEck’s offering in direct competition with other recently listed bitcoin ETFs.
The VanEck ETF has now become the sixth-largest U.S.-listed spot bitcoin ETF, with assets under management of more than 6,000 BTC ($440 million). This put them ahead of competitors Invesco (BTCO) and Valkyrie (BRRR), according to BitMEX data. This is a testament to the success of the VanEck ETF, especially with the recent surge in the price of bitcoin to record highs above $72,000.
In addition to the success of VanEck’s ETF, Monday brought almost $1 billion in inflows for all nine newly-listed spot bitcoin ETFs combined. This helped to offset the $500 million outflow from the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), according to BitMEX data. This marked another milestone in the growing popularity of spot bitcoin ETFs.
Last week, there was a record high of $2.7 billion in inflows to digital asset funds, with bitcoin products attracting $2.6 billion of all flows, according to CoinShares. This shows the increasing demand for bitcoin and other digital assets among investors.
