Iota may be the Backbone of IoT, but IoT may be the Backbone of AI

The Web of Things can be an all encompassing transformation of the planet we are living within, not just a mere niche as some might suggest. It’s the unprecedented linking and merging of human beings and machines.

Whilst everyone has their eye on the Internet of Items, and the principles of autonomous devices and selling sensor data upon an open marketplace, something a lot, much bigger is taking form.

The realization that what we have been doing with the development of Iota and the IoT, is usually creating the backbone of AI. Not merely the backbone though, the fingers and feet, and the eye and ears of AI aswell.

Right today, AI is largely limited by the electronic realm, and AI’s digital mobility and also the data it requires is silo’d and constrained simply by the networks we have set up these days. An AI can’t directly influence physical space generally, yet. This is likely to completely change by using Iota/IoT.

Since every device becomes linked to the Tangle/Web, as sensors turn out to be ubiquitous, as information marketplaces enable data to become more effectively used and distributed, as devices become autonomous… Everything gets the possible to be accessed, managed and optimized by an AI. Provide chain, transportation, agriculture, academia and science, nearly everything. Narrow, Common, and Swarm Intelligence can be a prevalent facet of society.

AI can make the IoT, ‘smart’. We have been creating the perfect breeding surface for AI to succeed. This is actually the true paradigm shift for me. We need Iota to attain the singularity.

These are simply just my speculations, and I’d want to hear arguments for and against!
