Between June 17, 2024, and July 2, 2024, the Shimmer network community engaged in pivotal governance votes related to the Tangle Community Treasury. These elections were held to appoint new leadership for the Tangle Treasury DAO—the governing body of the Treasury—and to select members for the Shimmer Grant Committee. We are pleased to announce that the community has cast their votes, resulting in the successful election of a new Program Lead for the DAO and several new committee members dedicated to steering future growth within the ecosystem.
Reinforcement of Community Leadership
Prior to the recent election, another round of voting had occurred where the minimum required participation level was not met. Responding to this, the community revisited the decision-making process with renewed vigor, leading to significant leadership changes:
- The appointment of a new Program Lead for the Tangle DAO LLC, who will also oversee the governance of the IOTA and Shimmer Grant Committees.
- The formation of a refreshed Shimmer Grant Committee, composed of four enthusiastic members tasked with the distribution and management of resources within our ecosystem.

Celebrating New Appointments
This election has infused new talents into our governance structure:
- Linus Nauman has been elected as the Program Lead, bringing with him a vision for strategic growth and community engagement.
- Joining the governance team are Nicole O’Brien, Richard Mediavila (also known by his moniker Finanzgoblin), Yi-Wei Lin, and Phantom 3d, all of whom bring their unique insights and expertise to the Shimmer Grant Committee.

Next Steps for Governance
Looking forward, the Tangle Treasury DAO LLC will soon convene to finalize the engagement of the new committee members by signing contracts and formally transitioning responsibilities from the outgoing members. The operational activities of both the IOTA and Shimmer Grant Committees are scheduled to commence shortly, with funds approved in the March 2022 votes being allocated to the new Committee’s MultiSig Wallets.
