MasterZ and IOTA Hackathon Concludes with Groundbreaking Innovations
Unleashing Innovation: The MasterZ x IOTA European Blockchain Hackathon
A New Wave of Blockchain Solutions
In a remarkable display of innovation and collaboration, the MasterZ x IOTA European Blockchain Hackathon concluded at the end of March, marking a meaningful milestone in blockchain progress. Initially, 200 talented developers were carefully chosen to participate in this prestigious event. By its conclusion, these participants had successfully developed 66 groundbreaking projects on the IOTA platform.
The hackathon not only showcased new talents but also brought to light practical applications of blockchain technology. The top five projects from this event are set to present their innovations live in Berlin, while the top ten will engage in an intensive acceleration program spearheaded by MasterZ and AIO Blockchain Lab. Additional high-performing projects will benefit from customized acceleration tracks designed to further refine and expand their applications.
Journey from Conceptualization to Realization
The adventure began in january 2026 with a rigorous selection process that identified 200 developers from diverse European nations including Spain, Portugal, Austria, Italy, Germany, UK, Cyprus, Netherlands, Belgium, and france. These individuals embarked on an educational journey starting February with multiple live training sessions covering essential topics such as the Move programming language and building on decentralized infrastructures using IOTA’s technology stack.
March: A Month of Creation
March was dedicated entirely to development as participants worked both individually and collaboratively to turn their innovative ideas into tangible products using IOTA’s technological framework. By March 31st—the project submission deadline—66 new products were ready for evaluation based on criteria like execution quality,
problem-solving capability for real-world issues,
technical implementation,
and potential market adoption.

Looking Forward: Next Steps Post-Hackathon
As we move beyond the hackathon phase into April and beyond:
- The top five teams are preparing for an exclusive showcase event in Berlin where they can network within the ecosystem.
- The top ten teams are entering an accelerator program focused on market entry strategies,
strategic partnerships formation,
and capital acquisition efforts necessary for scaling their solutions globally.
This initiative has proven that when innovative minds work together under supportive conditions provided by initiatives like MasterZ x IOTA’s hackathon; practical solutions emerge that push boundaries beyond mere theoretical constructs into services capable of transforming industries across Europe—and potentially worldwide—into more efficient entities ready for future challenges.
