Shimmer Governance Votes Results June 2024

New Appointments for the Tangle Community Treasury

TL;DR:

We present the community-verified results of the two Shimmer network governance votes on the Tangle Community Treasury, held between June 17, 2024, and July 2, 2024. Shimmer token holders have successfully elected new members for the Tangle Treasury DAO – the entity responsible for the Treasury – and the Shimmer Grant Committee.

Earlier in June, we asked Shimmer token holders to vote again on two proposals for the Tangle Community Treasury that had failed to reach the minimum voter participation necessary in an earlier round. These proposals were:

  1. A new Program Lead for the Tangle DAO LLC, the entity responsible for the Tangle Community Treasury. The Lead also oversees the IOTA and Shimmer Grant Committees, which operate under the legal framework of the DAO.
  2. A new Shimmer Grant Committee, consisting of four dedicated members, responsible for allocating the Treasury’s Shimmer tokens to support and grow our ecosystem.

The results are in: Shimmer token holders have elected a new Lead for the Tangle Treasury DAO LLC and new committee members for the Shimmer Community Grant Committee.

This establishes a legitimate elected Tangle Treasury DAO LLC and enables the Tangle Community Treasury to continue operating with a strong mandate and refreshed team.

Now that the community has chosen to continue the operations of the Tangle Community Treasury under new leadership, we look forward to working with them to support the IOTA and Shimmer ecosystem.

We congratulate Linus Nauman, the newly elected treasury lead, and welcome the other new team members: Nicole O’Brien, Finanzgoblin / Richard Mediavila, Yi-Wei Lin, and Phantom 3d.

For full transparency, we’ve collected the full results of the community-verified vote results at the end of the article.

What comes next?

The Tangle Treasury DAO LLC will soon meet to sign the contracts of the new committee members and release the previous committee members from their contracts. The IOTA and Shimmer Grant Committees are expected to pick up their tasks next week. Funds allocated to the committees through the votes in March 2024 will be sent to the newly established MultiSig Wallets of the new Committee.
